“Every person has the city in which they live, and Jerusalem.” — Yehuda Amichai

The March of Jerusalemites
مسيرة المقدسيين والمقدسيات

The “Jerusalemites’ March” is an initiative by dozens of activists alongside cultural and community organizations. It seeks to celebrate the unique cultural richness of the city’s fabric—a complex and diverse mosaic of voices, stories, identities, and communities woven together in everyday life.

The initiative invites residents to take part in a joint multicultural event offering diverse ways to experience Jerusalem. It is a space for meeting, creation, and marching together, connecting people, places, and perspectives—shining a light on the city through the people who live it.

On Jerusalem Day 2026, we seek to answer the call that Jerusalem presents by its very presence: to meet the “other,” and to observe reality with a compassionate, loving, and hopeful gaze.

Preparing for the march across Jerusalem – dozens of events and tours.

Marching with “Jerusalem of Gold” flags (which you prepared with us) and the Israeli flag (brought from home).

Entering the park together! Marching from the King David / Yitzhak Kariv st. junction alongside with the Marsh Dondurma brass band, followed by a colorful happening for the whole family.

Believers | المؤمنون | מאמינים.ות
An interfaith prayer gathering led by Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith leaders, featuring musicians from all faiths. Led by the Zion Community.

At the end of the evening, the 02 Jerusalem Bar Cooperative invites participants to raise a “L’Chaim” glass at their three downtown bars: Biratenu, The Glen, and The Rabbit Hole.

The “Jerusalem of Gold” Flag

In honor of our beloved Jerusalem, we have designed a special flag—the Jerusalem of Gold flag!

The flag was inspired by the Bünting Cloverleaf Map, which as early as 1585 placed Jerusalem at the center of the world.

Participants will receive the flag at one of the march meeting points and can add their own symbol, word, or design to it—reflecting the multifacets of Jerusalem.
